How our program components and types of services work.
Nurse Jamie, working with a student seeking support at the Harvest Middle School Wellness Center, 2016.
The Wellness Center staff works with teachers, school staff, families and community agencies. School teachers consider students’ behavioral and emotional needs, and make referrals to the Wellness Center. Students and parents can also visit the Wellness Center without a referral, if desired. Services are provided based on the student’s need and the Center’s resources. We also have a strong network of community-based services to support our families.
As of April 2016, our Wellness Teams have screened 3,615 students for Mental and Behavioral Concerns.
330 of those students were referred for services
117 MediCal - Referred to Aldea & County Mental Health
30 seen by Aldea Therapist
The remainder of students were seen by NVUSD Staff Counseling & Case Management.
